projector headlight disaster 09 civic hybrid
car: 2009 civic hybrid
i decided to get new headlight housings. i ordered two kinds for about 500 dollars for the two. one was a projector set, with LED halos, and another was a projector set with CCFL halos and some other useless LEDs scattered about.
the first ones, the LED halos one, was broken and useless from the getgo. the second set however was out of control - meaning very frustrating. typically the DRLs are the two lights closest to the center of the vehicle, on the newest gen. civic. and the new projector lights were where the headlights are supposed to be. but, in the "DRL" spot only an H1 bulb can fit, IE not a DRL/Brights bulb, and the "projector" only fits an HB4/2009 bulb, a DRL/Brights bulb. so they're switched around? does this sound right?? i knew something was wrong when i purchased HID kit, and the h1 sized bulb didn't fit into the "projector" slot. I just had assumed since i bought the headlights, that the projector was the headlight spot and not the DRLs, but i guess not? does any of this make sense?
when i tried to jam my HID bulbs into the projector slots, obviously they didn't fit, but also the right bulb would just shut off every couple of minutes, leading me to believe that it was triggering the auto off setting on the ballast, quite obviously because the bulb was jamed into a slot it wasn't meant for. this was resolved when driving at night by simply turning the lights off for a split second, and both came back on again. does anyone know if i can use them in the real headlight spot as i've discovered through trial and error? will it stop shutting off because it's in a slot that it actually fits in now?
any advice or solution to my problems so that i don't have to mess around with this anymore...

my theory: the projector eye is actually set up to be the DRL, because the bulb is an HB4 bulb, i think so at least, could be an H3. the DRL "slot" is actually the headlight space because it fits an h1 bulb. haha, also, i'm trying to convince myself too because my HIDs are h1 and they don't fit my slots. also, there is only adjustment screws for the "DRL" slot, and not for the "headlight" slot. anyways, can anyone help me. im screwed here
