A QUESTION ON RPMS vs SPEED???
Yea thanks for that info. This last trip she managed to get 36.38 mpg @ 70 mph no a/c. I drove it home tonight at 70 mph with 30-40 mph winds. I'm taking it back to her tomorrow so we will see how I did.
Thanks everyone for the input. I'm learning a lot about Honda's. This is a great board some great people. That isn't always the norm with the younger generation. But you guys have been a great help Thanks.

Another update: I ran a few ounces of Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner through with a tank of gas. That really helped the mileage. It went to 39 mpg. This car has never had an injector cleaner in it, so after 100,000 miles it was probably due for some cleaner. Seems to have better performance also.
do a compression test...that can determine your MPG also. If my worn out f22a can make close to 30MPG in a 28-2900lbs accord I don’t see why you can make what the factory states. If your engine isn’t healthy then your millage will show...
I was about to suggest the fuel cleaner. My hatch runs at about 40mpg. And I run the same RPM at 70mph. All is fine there. =)
A lot of it just has to due with how long your on the highway and how long your on city streets. City streets obviously kill your gas mileage. Most of my driving is highway.

But since adding Lucas to a few tanks of fuel our Civic runs much better & the mileage is up. I drove it 500 miles in the last two days & I averaged 36.67 mpg. That was some at 70 mph some at 80 mph & about 100 miles of town driving. We run this car from 4,000 ft of elev to over 8,000 ft of elev.
Your correct. But there comes a point where is the cost worth the benefits. In my case no. The car never got more than 39-40 mpg when it was new. So to get in the upper mid 30s is just fine with me. Especially driving it at 75-80 mph.
