Default EF 4 speed to 5 speed swap?

Iam wondering what 5 spd tranny can I get that will bolt right up to the stock motor? I just sold my 97 turbo ex, and picking up the hatch. I know its a 90 or 91 1.5 non vtec 4 spd, and I have plans for it later (a few years when college is over with). For now, I just want to swap a 5 spd and ditch the 4 spd. Can anybody tell me if there isa bolt up tranny swap? Thanks

you have 3 options

for one it will have to be out of a 89-91 civic Sedan/hatch/crx

you can get an SI trans, DX, or HF

Si is the most agressive
DX is just like the si except for 5th gear
HF is geared for gas millage...aka slow

bolts right up..you said you had a 90..as long as you stay away from the 88, you won't have to replace your clutch/flywheel setup but it might not be a bad idea to replace it up

The 88 transmission has different clutch setup but will bolt up..just requires you to get new stuff.

I will definatelygo withthe si, since I will probably mini-me head swap. Just to get something decent out of it, until I can go all out with it. very good info, thank you.
