Default A quick ECU question

Can a 37820-P28-A52 ECU be used in place of a 37820-P28-A51 ECU? The car I'm using it on is a 93 EX automatic.

Someone posted instructions a while ago about how to reprogram a P28 or similar OBD1 ECU between auto and manual by moving resistors inside.
