Quick question about Master Cylinder.
Have a 92 Civic LX with 189,000 miles.
I plan on replacing my Master Cylinder & getting a new rod gasket for it because it leaks between the Booster & the Cylinder. I know I have to bleed the brakes afterward but is there anything else I need to do?
I read about "rod clearance adjustments" in the Honda Manual..would I need to do that as well? The manual shows me how to do it but never tells me if I need to do it or not with just the cylinder replacement.
P.S: I looked inside "the rod" on the cylinder & I don't see anything in there..it looks like a closed end of a pipe. Sooooo what is there to adjust if any?

It's the rod in the booster that is adjustable. Usually you can just swap a new cylinder on and it will work without adjustment.
The issue is if the rod is too long, the cylinder won't return to the home position so it can fully release the pressure from the lines. This will cause the brakes to drag after several stops.
