Default Radiator fan runs every 2 minutes even in cool condition

Hi everybody

I'm new here, I have problem as you see in the title, my 2008 Civic starts to have problem since two months. Even when motor is cool or just warm (maybe a half of engine normal running temperature), the radiator fans run 12 sec for every 2 or 3 minutes. It doesn't make sense because the engine is not even hot, the engine runs without any problem as I can see. I'm afraigh to bring my car to dealer because you never know how much you end up...
My car has 59400km...is it still warranty by Honda?

I can check myself if you give me some advise. In the previous model I think the fans are activated by the thermal swith comming from radiator thermal OR another control signal comming from computer board....is it the same for 2008 model ?. Note that the air conditionning works normally

Thank you for help

I would think the thermal switch on a Honda works the same way as any other car. It could be a faulty thermal switch or a fan relay. Down load a service manual for your car and check the wiring diagram out.

If you have the climate control set on defrost, the air conditioning system will kick in periodically even in cool weather. (This acts like a dehumidifier for better control of fog on the inside of the windshield). When the air conditioner is on, the fans will run regardless of engine temperature.

You're right 110%, thank you very much to clarify this behavior. Now I know my car has no problem...
thanks
