Default radio sight, but no radio sound

so the lcd displays info, but none of my speakers are working. no pops, no buzzing...nothing.
it happened one hot day when i slammed my glove box.
i tried to switch out fuse...no luck.
i don't really want to take the dash apart to get to the radio because it doesn't look easy.
any ideas?

One speaker wire shorted to anything (ground or another speaker wire) will typically shut down the amplifier for all 4 speakers.

On the older models anyway, very easy to R&R radio. Or reach behind the dash and move the wires around.

Newer models (2001 up) I think have a separate amplifier module which could be defective. The head unit would still light up.

depending on the year of the car. 96-99 isn't that bad (I did mine about 4 years ago, don't remember it being that hard to get out). Not sure how it is on other models. For me the hardest part was taking the time to do it RIGHT and not rush just to get a deck into the car!

What year is it? We can provide guides.

In fact, there are whole threads about it in the DIY Audio/Video section.
