Default RANDOM SPUTTERING @ HIGHWAY SPEEDS

HELLO
I OWN A 91 CIVIC DX. I JUST HAD THE DISRIBUTER REPLACED. THE CAR WILL RUN FINE @ SUSTAINED SPEEDA OF 60. SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 80 FOR AN HR. OR SO ON THE HIGHWAY IT WILL GO FINE TILL A 1/4 TANK OF GAS IS LEFT. IT WILL THEN CUT OFF AND SPUTTER FROM THERE. FEATHERING THE PEDAL HELPS FOR A BIT, BUT IT REACHES A POINT AND WILL ABRUPTLY CUT OFF AND SPUTTER FROM THERE EVEN AFTER I STOP THE CAR. BAD GAS, BAD FUEL PUMP? CUMPUTER FLASHES ONCE EVERY 2 SEC MORE THAN 20 TIMES..... ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..
THANK YOU...

First thing you should do is get your keyboard checked out, so that you can take off the CAPS!

Did it run O.K. before you had your distributor replaced? It sounds to me like your running out of gas, maybe your guage is wrong. How many gallons do you put in after it starts the stuttering? The single flash is an O2 sensor code, unless your check engine light is on it's probably an old code. Clear your computer and see if it comes back.

Thanks for the reply, The car did sputter and stopped running altogether before the new distributer. As far as gas goes it started cutting out with 3 gal. left in the tank, then again around 1/2 a tank 6 gallons or so. I will clear the computer and see what it reads.
Thank You

I see you've gotten your keyboard fixed, now let's try for the car.
Have you checked your cat? Sometimes a bad cat will cause your engine to stall or lose power.
