I'm a metal refinisher and work with abrasives all the time and I just know how easy it is to screw up metal, let alone something as important as a windshield.

Replace the friggin window you cheap bastard!!!! What you're trying to do is put radiator stop leak in a radiator. All it's going to do is clog up the damn system and require a coolant flush and radiator repair anyways! -- All your going to do is fog up your window and cry about it later and wish you had replaced it.
Do the right thing, don't skimp! Replacing the window is an investment. Taking the risk of turning scratches into cracks? Priceless.

a window isn't really a performance part...

If you were speaking cosmeticly....then why did you compare it to a radiator...
not every one has 200 dollars to replace a window...and like to learn how to do new things.

Chill guys! If I wanted this to turn into a pissing contest I would have put a disclaimer in my original post stating:
"All viewers of this post are recommended to wear raincoats and bring umbrellas in the event that a pissing match may arise."
I appreciate the everyone's input. You guys are all very helpful!

Wow - I don't feel so bad now for some reason.
Are the scratches in your line of site when driving? Are they a distraction? Do they distort the view in any way? Depending on the severity of those things (if at all) it may be a safety concern. Considering it's the rear glass, maybe not so much though.
Have you checked with the local salvage yards? You might get lucky and find some decent glass for cheaper than new.

The scratches aren't in my line of site since they're at the very top of the window, but it just looks like crap. I have thought about seeing if the local salvage yards might have anything, I was just hoping that there might be an "easy" fix.
Guess If I have to replace the glass, I just have to do it.....Just sucks though......The kid who owned my car before me was a freaking idiot.[sm=rolleyes.gif]
