Default Removing transmission without access to a car lift...

2005 Honda Civic EX 1.7L VTEC
Hey guys, I am dropping the tranny to replace the mainshaft bearing and have run in to a small snag. I can't seem to be able to get the tranny out of the engine bay. I have it unattached from the engine and it is only being held up by the jack and the other end resting on the car frame. I can't move it to a position that will let it drop out from under the car. And going out the top would require removing some cooling hoses from the block and other things.
Any tips?

It will drop out underneath. Remove the outside motor mount completely from the end of the transmission if you haven't already. Support the transmission from above with an engine hoist or a strong friend with a chain on it.

I'm still stuck, getting an engine lift in the morning to try and see if that helps. I just can't seem to find a way to get it out even with my friend helping me. I have thought about undoing the front center engine mount and lowering the passenger side of the engine down with the tranny back on and pulling it down under the frame if it will go down that far safely. Here is what it looks like right now.

Ok, got the transmission out finally! Had to drop the whole front subframe and the downpipe on the exhaust along with it. Now that I have replaced the input shaft bearing and put the tranny back together and have it back in the engine bay with the subframe bolted back up. But now I can't get the tranny bolted back up. Having problems get the shaft back in through the clutch plate and flywheel. Anyone have any ideas?

Turn the fly wheel a little so the mainshaft would fall into the grove, then you should be fine..

I use my engine hanger like mk said, big help
