Replaced tie rods and now can't get it aligned!

I don't see how anyone who works on cars would think the castle nut should be on top, yet alone someone who fixes cars for a living.

I mean, has he ever even seen a front end with the tire off!?

Do you still have the old ones? Compare the length. Really the only way this can happen is if you have the wrong part.

Already done. The parts are identical. I can only theorize I unwittingly forced something out of tolerance further into the rack. I've got it with the top recommended dealer in town right now so we'll see...
