it just rough idles when the compressor kicks on like I said for about 5 or ten seconds and the tack jumps bout 500rpm up and down. Is this something I can change out, or do I have to take it to someone cause of the aclines in it and then have it charged again?

The fan can be replaced without disconnecting any lines. Unplug it, unbolt it from the condenser, and pull it upward. Unplug the fan and jumper it to a battery to see if it is really dead.

Default '93 Civic running rough when the a/c kicks in.

My daughter's Civic doesn't get cold even though fully charged. A friend told me this might be the a/c expansion valve. Is this very difficult to fix? Does the dash have to be removed?

Thanks

Default IACV Electrical connection

If you tried RonJ's IAVC cleaning method, how did you disconnect the plug from the IAVC? I'm not smarter than the connection. Most of the plastic under the hood of my '92 Civic LX is really brittle. As is the this connection.

Push the plug on as far as it will go, hold it there and squeeze the release tab on the side to release the catch. Then while holding release tab down, pull the plug straight off.

Oh yeah, forgot to post but I fixed it, turned out the car was wrecked last Oct. and I guess when they fix it they forgot to hook up the ground wire on the condenser fan motor, I just happen to find it that day when I was looking around, so it's all good now!!
