Service manual
I want to get a service manual for my car (02' EX) and I want to know what a good one to get is. Chilton, Haynes etc. The service dept. at the Honda dealership said they use Helms brand and they have one for every Civic. The cost $70.00. Chilton and Haynes cost around $20.00. Helms probably has the most info but I thought I'd ask.
I have an 02 EX and I picked up a Chiltons not too long ago, I love it, mainly for the wiring schematics, but all around its a good book. More in the range of beginner to intermediate knowledge. I bought it off of amazon and got a bundle with Honda/Acura engine performance by Mike Kojima, I found both books very helpful in both learning about areas of the car and engine and learning about the companies that make performance parts for Honda/Acura (this in the engine performance book). Got both books for 30 bucks give or take plus shipping. I found it to be a good buy. Just my two cents. Hope this helps.
Go with the factory service manual, you will pretty much never need another manual again. Plus it has a lot of trouble . Something most of the "aftermarket" manuals dont have. Factory gets into the specifics. It's better to be too specific and detailed, than to general and misunderstanding. Just my opinion, Besides, youd might as as well do it right the fisrt time!
Well, I have the Haynes and I can't really recommend it. It's way too generalized. And I don't know if all manuals are like this but half of the book referrs you to another section.
Step 1- refer to section 3-2 to releive fuel pressure
Step 2- refer to section 1-14 to remove banjo bolt
Step 3- Take it off
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Thanks a lot.
