Default Shifter Ignition Lock

Hey all,

Just wondering if any of you have ever replaced the little lock mechanism that's in the shifter that tells the ignition lock solenoid that the car is in park so I can remove my key from the ignition.. Car has been back and forth between really working fine, and not working really at all unless I fiddle with it, and its finally hit that "wont unlock for 10 minutes" point that I'm going to get the part...

Is it easy to put in myself with minimal tools?

Thanks!

The key solenoid is controlled by one of the slide switches on the shift lever. Easy to replace with simple tools. You could try cleaning the switch by dousing it with CRC or WD-40 first.

Hey, so I got my new parking lock key....

attached a pic of what the thing I received looks like...

Any of you know how to put it in? Is it difficult? If you do know how to do it, could you give me instructions?

Thanks
