Default Short Shifter install.

So i got a B&M short throw shifter today, along with some es bushings.
but i have a few questions, and i dont feel like putting it all together and finding out i did something wrong lol.
So while i was trying to install the front es bushing, i tried to take the bolt that holds it in place... but i guess the bolt is done . it wont loosen off no matter how many times i turn it... lol it just spins in place. any ideas on what i should do? also as you can see on the picture (the thing on the right) its very, very loose.. like if the bushings on it were done. and I think it makes the shifter really loose and wobbly (lol)

And also on the B&M package it comes with a bunch of little rubber seals or w/e. but i have no idea where they are supposed to go. i saw on a website that 2 of them are supposed to go on the bottom of the shifter where it attatches with a screw, but i tried putting some in there and they just ripped. because its a super tight fit...

Thanks!

Yeah thanks! its just that the ball at the bottom of the shifter is a super tight fit, and i cant get the rubber bushings to fit in the thing that it connnects to the shift linkage. i have already ripped one..=[ lol

hmm try slightly lubing it with a sealer, I had the same tight problem with a bushing on my valve cover and I lubed the end of it and it fit great so try that.

yeah so i finally got the rubber band bushing thing on... i go and start up the car and it wont go into first gear
im gonna go out and try again in a bit.
any ideas on what i might of done wrong?
i think its because the bend..lol
maybe its on the wrong way

feels as if it was sending me straight into 3rd gear

I JUST FIXED IT.
in case it happens to anyone else, what happened was that the bushings on the shifter broke off and left the shifter loose, and it wasnt letting it turn enough to make it reach 1st gear. all i had to do was re-tightend the bolt.
