Default B&M Short Shifter install, can I do it myself?

Alright, I just ordered a B&M Short shifter kit. It will be here in a couple of weeks. Is the installation of said shifter easy? Will I need to jack my car? or should I just get a shop to install it? Any tips or advice would be greatfully appreciated!! Thanks

iight man your gonna have to jack the car up so you can get under the car where the shift linkage is. then your gonna have to take a plate off thats under the pipping of the exhuast and then un bolt the shifter and then you'll be able to take out the shifter after that you can put the shifter back on and then bolt on the shift linkage again. in a rate 1-10 it should be a 5 its not really complicated you'll do good if you need help just come back to us.

I put one in and its not bad at all if you are somewhat mechanically enclined. Take your **** off first, then exhaust, then undo the 2-10mm bolts behind the shifter. the shifter and bars will come down together. From my experience it is easier to drop the exhaust before the cat. Be sure and spray the bolts down with rust eater or something of that nature. Be sure and get a prothane bushing kit, they run about 10 bucks. It will help with a tighter shift. The round bushing will go on the stabilizer bar of the shifter on the trans side. Just push the old one out and insert the new one, be sure and use the grease supplied. The other one goes behind the shifter and is bolted to the under-side of the car. Be sure and use the old metal plate, oem, otherwise the bolts will go through the bushing. When you drop the shifter there will be two bolts holding it all together, spray those down too. Around the shifter is a coupler which you will reuse. slid it off and put it and put it on the new shifter useing the supplied grease from B&M, white. Do the reverse of the proceedure and then move onto the other bushing which is very easy. Be sure to spray all bolts down so you don't snap any. Otherwise, its off to the store. I hope this helps if not I will be glad to take photos of mine to show you. just email me or put up a post.

jack it way up, or you could get cramps with your arms stuck over your head and no room to ease them, and it hurts and it sucks, or so i've heard anyway, cuz i would never do that.

you had to ask, huh!??? short version..... redoing interior, was blue, going black/gray, finally found a dash, im also installing ac, so do dash same time,right.. so i take old out, install condenser, go to put new dash in........buzzz. its longer in the windsheild area. it got real late and i only have the one car, so i (cringe)sacrificed and painted it black, not as nice as orig. but its gonna have to do,
