I have a 96 Honda Civic. I have been out of town for over 3 weeks with business and a death in the family. When I parked it she was working fine. I am in New Orleans and it has gotten real hot out side while I was gone. Needless to say I go to get in it . It wont crank. I jump it off from my Toyota Tundra and she fires right up. Okay.. so to me it is battery related. I go to drive it and it starts missing. If I give her gas it is if it is choking down. I let off the gas and it idles right back up again. When I parked it she had less than a quarter of tank of gas. Think the hot air here has put humidity in the gas tank and zapped my battery? Battery is 3 yrs old. Give me some input. I cant be without my civic =(

Make sure your battery is being charged, check the voltage at the battery with the engine running (all other electrical stuff turned off). It should be about 14 volts. If less than 13 volts the alternator is not working or you have the fuse 15 problem.

Low system voltage will cause misfiring but you would likely also notice other symptoms like the radio not working and the lights very dim.

 

What is the "Fuse 15" problem? Can you post me a link? I searched and came up with a ton of things that didn't offer any help.
