Starting in 2001, Civic ignitions went to a distributorless system. The unit attached to each spark plug is not a wire, it is a complete system of module and coil. This is also known as a "coil over plug" system, not to be confused with a "coil over" suspension spring.

The coils are typically replaced only should they go bad, not pre-emptively. For a tune up replace the plugs but reuse the coils.

Dealer list on them is also about $60 each, which means you can get them for about $45 from Majestic Honda.

Avoid taking advice from any auto parts store that tells you that your 01 Civic has standard spark plug wires.
