Default speed sensor help

I have a 1999 civic with the 1.6 and check engine light came on. Checked code and it was P0715 input turbine speed sensor malfunction. I replaced the speed sensor and there is no change in the way the car runs and the code came right back. Any idea on what to do next? Researched issue in forum and could not find any previous answers.
