A/C Noise

A/C Noise
Hey all,
I try to search other threads for solutions, before adding another topic (found my clutch solution on here ), but I couldn't really search this one. A/C didn't register as search criteria.
That being said, here's the issue...
I hear a whirring sound when I turn on my A/C. I don't think it's a serious problem, but it just sounds ghetto. Any advice on how to fix it?

I've got a similar problem... but I think mine sounds more like a playing card in a bicycle wheel, and it only does it sometimes, usually at AC 1 and 2, but not usually 3 or 4. Does that sound anything like your problem Ked?

Is this "whirring" sound coming from the engine compartment or does it sound like it's inside the car?

The sound is coming from inside compartment. You can hear it louder outside the car. A friend of mine says it's just the compressor, and a lot of cars do it. I've also heard it could be loose belts. Whatever it is I don't think it's detreminal. I just don't want it to make the sound anymore.

I assume you get the noise anytime the fan is on? Mine makes this noise only in the winter. I think we need a new blower motor (or at least the thing that's attached to the motor which moves the air).
