Default spins has spark but...

Maybe this has been asked before, but my 96 Dx has spark spins but won't fire. Tried to do a fuel pressure test and couldn't. I took of the fuel line above the filter turned it over and fuel did spill out, but from wot I thought about fuel pressure in these cars was that it should stream or shoot out fast and far? am I right? My thoughts are the fuel pump, but don't want to spend the money until I'm sure.

Fuel does come out. It runs slow like a hose. When I worked on a GM that was injected, it was more of a stream. This was Like low pressure water hose held up right.

do a compression check. could be a timing belt, either it busted or jumped. it sounds like the fuel pump is working. Mine comes out like that too. If the hose was smaller in diameter it would shoot out like when you put your finger over the hose on the water hose. Besides even if it was low pressure you should feel/hear some kind of firing going on, just die or rough idle. My guess it timing.
