Default sputtering/backfiring when i start driving

2002 civic dx
My car starts sputtering and sometimes back firing when I start to drive at start up. I can press on the gas and there is no acceleration. It also drops down to around 200RPM. If I let it warm up for 5-10 minutes, it won't do it. This started happening only after I put a header on it. My plugs are only 6 months old and are iridium. I didn't check the plugs because I didn't think it would be the cause. Any ideas before i look at the spark plugs?
