Default Squeaky sun visor

My sun visor is annoyingly squeaky when I push it up or down. Does anyone know whether it can be lubricated and, if so, how this is done? Or does the whole visor need to be replaced?

you can oil it up but i dont think it will be very easy to oil it and not get the oil on the fabric unfortunately...

thats whats squeaking on ya the black metal area...

ya might try using some oil and put it on the rod and have it run down the rod.

or just cut your visors apart and oil/grease up the area and glue it back together or recover it and glue it back together.

Is it the plastic on plastic pivot point that's squeaking? Silicone lube is worth a shot.

I had one apart recently, but I can't remember what was inside where the arm attaches.

Thanks addiction and mudferret. Addiction, nice picture. Do you think that I could spray some lubricant past the brown cover material (circled in red) without making a huge mess?

you could try to shove the hose past the fabric but im not to sure... youd really have to try it yourself.

Yeah, I think I'll give it a try with a hypodermic needle and syringe.

o that might work best but i think the hose from the WD40 can would be enough posibly.... just give it a short blast and keep the visor verticaly so gravity will help it run down...

O OK........ i change my mind... im bored today so i finally started to recover my headrests... the rod on my first visor is stuborn and doesnt want to be removed...
but my other one that i JUST cut open i was able to pull that rod out from the end of the visor...

so just remove the visor from the roof, grab onto the swivel mount and twist and pull it out the end, then spray the inside of the visor or maybe the rod as well, put a rag or something around the hole to prevent any oil on the visor and cram it back in the visor.
