Default Squeaky Vents?

So lately since its the winer i have my vents on full blast wtih hot air, and sometimes out of nowhere the vents will start squeaking. Its comin from under the passenger side dash, right to the center console. It almost sounds like something is loose down there, but whatever it is, it is just about the most annoying sound in the world. When theire on full blast, the noise is the quietest, but the slower i set the vent power, the louder it gets. Anybody have an idea of what this could be? Anybody with a similar problem?

no no no no...he said passenger side, not driver seat.[sm=roll.gif]

Sounds like fan bearings. Had that happen in my '91 HB. Dropped the fan and cleaned all kinds of crap out of it.

no no no, you mistook my sarcasm. You are right, it's the fan, probably the bearings. And it is indeed the one blowing the hot air. But my reference was to the driver being full of hot air. Ok, so it wasn't that funny. heheh

yeah, you can take out the blower fan and clean all the crap out of it. you just need to remove the passenger kick panel and then it drops out with a few screws. I had half a tree's worth of dead leaves in mine.

I am having the same problem with mine...it gets quieter as I turn the heater up more but gets louder as I slow the fan speed down. My dad had the blower motor out one day last summer so he could change something for the A/C and noticed that there was a lot of s*** in there, but he was too lazy to take it out all the way so I could get everything out...havent had the chance to do so either because its soo darn cold out!! But that sounds like whats going on with your car.
