i have a 94 civic with a 95 gsr motor in it, its getting moody on the start up, sometimes when i put the key in and turn it, it gets a sound like it really wants to start for about a second or 2, then it starts. kind of like a knocking sensation, could this be spark plugs or starter or?

 

Check fuel, spark and compression. Also take a look at your spark plugs and see if there is anything wrong with them. Sounds like you're getting too much or not enough fuel, or spark.
