Default strange stalling patterns

Has anybody ever had this happen? I have a '90 Civic Si (automatic) that when cold seems to start up just fine - first turnover. But twice in the last week, I've had to make a quick pit stop at a store, and when it came time to fire her up to leave, it would either not turn over or reluctantly turn over only then to stall. After shutting it right down, removing the key and trying again, it will usually pop back to life. I've recently run some Seafoam gently through the engine, so I think it should have gotten a gentle but decent top end cleaning.

Help!

my old '89 integra used to have a similar problem. mine was due to an old and faulty main relay. it's an electronic component and the
soldering goes bad after 15+ years. some people take it apart to resolder or buy a new one.
