Default Stripped Thermostat Housing Threads

The bolt in my Thermostat housing was over tightened, now the threads in the housing are stripped. Is there a way to fix this? I have a 2004 Honda Civic Lx sedan.

You could pick up a thermostat housing and swap that, or you can drill our the holes and tap it to whatever you would like.

The domed part of the thermostat housing is fine. I'm having problems with the rear part of the housing that is connected to the engine block. Should I tap it or is there a replacement for that part?

Replacing the part might be cheaper, but I have had excellent luck using Helicoil to repair stripped threads.
