This stuff any good?
I'm thinking about getting this, but I don't know if it is going to be a piece of crap or if it would be sweet to have.......what do you think? I don't want to invest in a catback or anything....just the muffler. Would this add performance/sound? Will it fit my 97HX?

Also, my stock exhaust tip is quite long so would I need this verion of the same muffler to fit my HX? If not, then what is ther purpose of this exhaust tip being longer than usual?

Do any of these require welding?

Increase 5-10 horsepower
o.k. Well, really I just want it for sound.......I might upgrade to a cat latter on. So, what's the difference between the one with the 4" tip and the one with the 7" tip. Why would one choose one over the other?
Is the muffler in this video the same as the one in the ebayauction?

My stock Muffler +tail pipeis 26" total. So, how would a 20" muffler like this work on my car? Wouldn't it be too short?

Even this one with the 7"tail pipewould still be too short I would think.

go to advance auto parts, autozone, napa, etc. and buy a 1' section of flex-bend tubing. Then buy a couple couplers (lol... a couple couplers) and some exhaust clamps. Then you're good to go (I did basically the same thing on my friend's Mercury Cougar)
those are just the mufflers and thats all. You will need to have your stock muffler chopped off and this one welded on. Gains: a little but not really noticable... any time you make your exhaust less restrictive you are going to see some type of gain. As for sound...it will definitely be louder. Actually it will be that annoying raspy sound that many come to know and hate. Since the rest of your piping is somewhere around 1.25" this muffler ont do much. For a throaty sound I suggest a header and 2"-2.25" piping all the way back to the muffler, with a resonator (or 2) and a high flow catalytic converter. This muffler is $28 and you will get what you pay for.
