Default Tachometer

The 94 dx doesnt come with a tach, i know everyone keeps telling me to go by sound and what not...i have been doing it for a little while now. Its not a huge deal, but i would like to get a tach and install it. Just so i can actually SEE my car redline instead of hearing.

Question is How to install tachometer? I heard its just hooking up to the distributor or something like that... friend of mine told me. Comments?

No big deal, easy tutorial for installing tachs. Tough and NOT so tough. If its your first time...its going to be fun. We had a blast doing it. First youll search here and the whole internet for about an hour before you decide to just give up and try it on your own. Not a good idea. You need directions.

1. green wire, red wire, black wire, and white wire.
green main tach wire
red, pos
black, ground
white, light in tach

2. Its a little bit easy, First find a sweet spot for your liking.

3. Then Take off your cluster, in the back of this youll find like 4-5 plugs... now you want the plug thats all the way on the left. RIGHT BEHIND the temp guage. Its all the way on the left. cant miss it. its vertical. up and down. There will be a blue wire with white dashes on it. THATS THE ONE YOU WANT... this is the one your going to cut to connect to the GREEN WIRE.

4. I connected mine to the cig lighter for power and light. Taking off the mid console, Change dish, The other small holder thing. There will be 4 screws...2 on the sides, and 2 right on the top, right under the cd player. Take that off and unplug the lighter. There will be a black wire, a red wire, and a white wire with blue dashes on it. Cut the blacks and red to line them up. Simple enough. Then cut the White one to line it up with one of the red and black groups.

5. Since its not hooked up to your dim lights inside your little dimmer thing wont change the lightness on the tach, it will just be ONE brightness. Unless you hook it up that way through your dim lights inside your car or your headlights... then you wont be able to. It only comes on when you turn on your parking lights and (or) your headlights.

6. Push your wires inside your console and dash.... Set where your redline is and your ready to run.

P.S - YOU DO NOT NEED TO DRILL TO THROUGH YOUR FIREWALL.... BAD IDEA [:@]
