And if you do the seafoam, do it at night. It makes lots of smoke.

Try some STP fuel injector cleaner. I used to notice that my gas mileage was decreasing, and I dropped a bottle of that in there, and things are working fine now. I usually pour a bottle of it in the tank every third or fourth fill up, along with some octane booster whenever I feel necessary.

I agree with RMG, I've been doing alot of gas station experimentation if you will. I had a mechanic tell me that they came out with the top tier fuel ratings. And you would be surprised at how crappy some gas really is. He said every vehicle that has come in with bad injectors has been running on grocery store gas, costco gas, or arco.

From what i've found so far, the top fuels in my area are Texaco, Cheveron, Shell, and 76 and I've heard Cinnex is good, but they are few and far apart. Up until recently I had been running safeway fuel because it was cheap, but then I started experimenting. Cheveron and 76 brought up my gas miledge by a little bit, but not by much. 76 was a little more than cheveron. Texaco and Shell have been the best for me so far, they seem to be about equal. Now I know that cheveron own's texaco, so the gas should be the same, you would think. But I noticed a big difference between the two fuels. However, there is usually 5 to 20 cent difference between texaco/shell fuel vs the safeway fuel. But it gets me litterally about 50 miles farther. (take note that this test was in my truck, I haven't experimented with the honda yet) In my mind the few cents are worth it, plus it's better for the engine overall.

Another friend of mine used to work at a gas station in california, he said that they only had two fuel tanks, but they sold three different octanes. Meaning there was litterally no difference between the middle grade fuel and the high octane fuel. 0 difference, but you sure think you're getting the extra 2 or 3 octane for the money.

So anyways, experiment with the gas and see what happens.

Did you check your tire pressure?

my tires look fine... but would a low tire really cause a 20mpg drop in gas mileage? i will be driving a lot tomorrow... over 200 miles, ive changed the fuel filter and theres seafoam in the tank now. i will report back with what kind of mileage i get.
