Default Thermostat and ECT switch replacement

When installing the thermostat is there any downside to using HondaBond HT? The shop manual procedure doesn't mention sealant, but a quick search of these forums and the DIY indicate that some people use it.

Is it a good idea (or too OCD) to change out the engine coolant temperature (ECT) switch at regular intervals like the thermostat, or should I wait until it fails? My '96 Civic has just over 100K mi.

I made the DIY I believe. Adding sealant is not necessary. I added it in after being PM'd saying it would be a good idea. Honda-bond would be fine though.

Replacing the temp sensor is not needed unless there is a failure.
