Default Think i jumped time?

I think my timing may have slipped. Cat Conv plugged up about a week ago and yesterday when i went to start it to move it it wouldnt start. I just rolls like there is no compression. I guess i got a double whammy. What do i need for a complete timing belt redo? And does anyone have any info or advice? Car is a 99 civic ex d1y68 motor 5spd. thanks

Remove the oil fill cap, and use a flashlight to look inside the valve cover while a buddy cranks the engine. If the timing belt snapped, then the camshaft won't turn. Keep in mind that, if this is the case, major engine damage may have occurred.

After replacing the coil and timing belt on our 1993 honda civic 1.6 ex it will not run. I also had the valves ground. There were no bent valves. I checked the compression before valve job, low comp. Uses no oil. 138,000 miles

Do you have spark at all now? Why did you replace the coil?

Check again that it is properly timed. You only need to take the upper timing cover off. Take the spark plug out of cylinder #1 and probe the top of the piston to determine TDC rather than trusting the marks on the pulley (if someone put it together without the key, the marks will be meaningless).

Check compression again. Though you're supposed to measure it with the engine hot, you can get some idea with the engine cold if it doesn't run. If the valves have crashed, generally one or 2 cylinders will have zero compression and the others are OK.
