Default Timing belt in Pittsburgh

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum, and just bought a 2000 DX, so just getting my feet wet here... love the car, but I need to have the timing belt done. Anybody have any recommendations about where I should take it in the Pittsburgh, PA area?

Any advice is much appreciated!

I'm not in Pitts. Heck I'm not even in the US, but I know the general response is "if you have the tools and the patience, do it yourself"

however this isn't always an option. Hope you find a good reliable shop!

Timing belt was the first thing I did on a car, aside from oil change. If you are mechanically inclined, pick up a manual and DIY.

^^^ +1 on that RonJ

I used that (as well as a downloaded manual) to do mine earlier this year. Never done one before, took my time, made a few mistakes in re-assembly (messed up the order on re-installing a few things, took them apart and re-did it)

from the time I started to the time I finished was about 6 hrs of working slow. I'm sure if I had to do it again it would go much faster.

Its very benificial to learn how to do it yourself, i agree, but no one answered his question lol, but thats cause no ones rly from pittsburgh. here ya go buddy, my cousin dates his son, he does anything, and real good with prices. tell him josh with the civic hatchback send you.

Phone: (724)-736-8357
Fax: (724)-736-8231
Mail: Bise's Garage, 705 Layton Rd., Perryopolis, Pa., 15473

as for directions, i dont know exactly where in pittsburgh you are but just get on 51, follow 51 untill you hit perryopolis, at the redlight right across from the auto auction, make a left, go around the statue circle but keep going strait, follow that road down, youll go thru a tunnel then a one lane bridge, youll cross train tracks and his garage is almost right there on your left. hes a real nice dude, good with his prices, and knows what he is doing.

lol, just refer him to mapquest with the street address. And here I thought only women gave directions according to landmarks

just saying, your directions suck. From what you have said, he would have no idea when to start looking for the unnamed streets he is supposed to be turning on. I am just saying a map would probably be a better idea.

i have provided a phone, fax, address, and direction on how to get there, i feel that i have answered his question and provided enough information to get him to the destination. If he would like to acquire further information on how to reach that particular destination, he can do so via GPS, Mapquest, Or put a blindfold over his eyes and hope he gets to his destination magicly... That is all.
