hi guys, im having a bit of trouble here. i did timing belt, water pump, aem true time cam gear, skunk 2 stage 1 cam, unorthodox light wieght crank pulley, and tnesioner and idler today. i cannot get the car back into time. what is the firing order and how do you get the car back into time. pics or links to write ups would be great or even a link to get the fsm or something would be appreciated thanks

99 honda civic ex 5 speed, d16y8. oh and i also installed innovative performance 85a stage 3 motor mounts and venom injectors as well

 

What do you mean you can't get it back into time? What are you doing and what won't it do? How is it running? What do you have cam and dizzy timing at?

 

the timing belt jumped, and the motor went all out of time. i installed a new belt, waterpump, idler, tensioner, and while it was open installed my cam and adjustable cam gear. but it just doesnt seem to be in time. how are the timing marks supposed to line up and what is the firing order and rotation of hte motor clockwise or counter clockwise. if i knew this i could easily handle this myself. maybe ill go buy a book tomorrow that should have the answers im looking for.

to put it simple im looking for info on how the motor operates not troubleshooting skills

 

1,3,4,2 is your firing order. You need your #1 Piston (the one closest to the pulley) to be at top dead center. There should be a single mark at the pulley, when its pointing straight up its at TDC. there should also be a mark on your cam pulley. Or maybe the word 'up.' when thats pointing up, ad both marks are perfectly aligned, it's on time.... im not sure how your distributor cap goes but i think looking at it front on (standing over the passenger side fender), the bottom left post is for the #1 piston. so if the rotor button is pointing at that, then its on time.
