How old is your motor? Im assuming it is above 150k. Has is had oil leaking problems? Have you noticed reduced gas mileage? Less power? I had the same kind of noise w/ my 95 ex d16z6, but i thought it was an exhaust leak. It turned out to be RAPED engine bearings. The noise got so loud that i was afraid to drive it anymore so i decided to find out what was wrong. I tore apart my motor hoping to find good news - like not having to rebuild it. Oh well, that wasn't my luck. It was really expensive and time consuming. Let someone who knows about cars listen to it and offer this as a reason. Depending on what he or she says you could be in for an expensive adventure. Don't be afraid to use oem bearings. They're extremely reliable. Hope this helps.

I really doubt it. I've had too much oil in my car before (it used to leak LIKE CRAZY so i would over fill it a little) and it never made any strange noises. I'm not sure how you drive but i thrash my car so i really wasn't surprised to find my bearings damaged. One of the reasons why i think the problem was accelerated because it would be running on low oil for a few days at a time (until i could buy more). So just keep an eye on your oil. I know the dealership is a pain in the *** but if you really want to know the answer to your question take it there or to a mechanic you trust. And if you don't have one, i suggest that you find one. If you don't work on your own car its essential. Not only will you save money by not getting ripped off everytime you have a problem but ... well thats really the only reason... lol. I wish i could help more but someone needs to actually hear this noise to properly diagnose your problem. Good luck!
