Default Transmission problem?

Hello there. I am new here. I have a Honda Civic 2005 (automatic transmission). Recently, I have noticed that when I let go of the gas, it downshifts really fast. I may get one slight jerk(hardly noticeable) when I let go of the gas. If I'm going like 45 MPH, and I let go of the gas about 50 yards or so from the red light, it would slow down almost all the way by time I get to the red light without hitting the gas.

Does anyone have any idea what causes this? I'm pretty sure it's a transmission problem. Thanks.

Thats an automatic downshifting in case your gonna step on the gas again, It sounds like its fine, but if your worried you might want to flush the whole transmission fluid out and put new one in

Thanks for responding, cyberx32. Yeah, it is almost due for a transmission fluid flush. I'll get that done and see it goes.

So you mean when you first bought the car, it would coast further than 50 yards? Then it might be simply the fluid as cyberx said. Normally on an AT car, it will slow down b/c of the back emf created by the engine. it doesn't that unusual from your description.
