Trouble removing crankshaft pulley bolt, damaged pulley
yes
the sprocket has a notch, and the oil pump has a notch too. you line up the two notches and the crank is at TDC
then set cam to TDC using the cam gear "UP" marking and the notches on the sides

Karrde, your recommendations were bang on. I grabbed a couple high strength 1/2" bolts and put them in the pulley, and used a big bar to keep the pulley from turning. I had a 2' breaker bar with a 1' cheater on it, with 2x10" extensions like you said. Holy ****, i had to use almost my whole bodyweight and when the nut finally broke, it sent a shockwave up my arm and it almost felt numb for a minute.
Got the job done. Back togerther everythig went, and i turned to motor over a few dozen times with the starter, rechecked the mechanical timing and it lined up. Total job time approx 6 hours. I see why shops charge so much now.
