Default trunk latch adjustment?

The the latch for my trunk on my 96 HX wont close. I looked from inside, it the little bronze/black hook in the actual latch comes almost all the way around but doesnt "click" into place on the hook at the base of the trunk. It needs to "click" to stay down, as the trunk actually closes all the way down, it just doesnt stay down.

Anybody know how to re-adjust this? Details would be good, b/c I already tried fiddling with some stuff on the latch but it didnt work.

I think I might have messed it up when I ran a bungee cord into the latch system to keep the trunk down while hauling some bikes...

thanks

With the trunk open have you tried to manually "click" the latch shut? If it clicks shut, you may be able to just unlock it with the key and have it kind of reset itself. Worth a try. Who knows.
