Trying to choose mild lowering springs - TEIN, H & R, or Eibach...any probs w/ manual trans?

Default Trying to choose mild lowering springs - TEIN, H & R, or Eibach...any probs w/ manual trans?

My 96 HX is my daily driver, and I'm looking for a very mild lowering spring. I've narrowed it down to these three:

1. TEIN H-Tech Springs (1.3"F, 1.1" R) - 166.95
2. H & R OE Sport Springs (.75" F and R) - 182.00
3. Eibach Pro-Kit Springs (1.5" F, 1.3" R) - 205.00

I do not want to have to add any extras, and I'd prefer to run stock shocks (for now) and do w/o the caster adjustment kit - just get an alignment after I install these. I know you should't skimp on suspension, but I want something very mild since my stock springs are sagging anyway.

Definitely leaning towards the H-Techs, kind of in the middle and the price is right.

Last question: If I drop my HX w/ any of these mild kits, will this cause problems w/ the manual transmission shifting (I know when I lifted my Jeep it did, but it was a 3+ inch lift).

Thanks!

I have probably one of the most "mild" DD suspensions that I've ever felt. I went Tokico HPK's, shocks and springs, and the ride quality is amazing. No bounce, no harshness over bumps, minimal depletion from stock comfort. However, in a turn, they are about a billion times better than stock, and the car holds the road like a champ. Just putting that out there so that you know not all Shock/Spring combos are harsh and bouncy.

your jeep was most likely a body lift. that gets messed up because your shifter is connected to the body, and your tranny is on the frame. so when you seperate them, it messes stuff up.

Is it possible to just change the springs without changing anything else? On most cars I've come across you have to change the whole assembly unless you wanted to risk blowing a strut.

If you can pull it off with just a spring change, I may be interested....

A set of Tein S-Tech will run you about $160 and it’s like a 1.8 drop but they work with your stock shocks(says this in there add) Here are 5 links from people that have already installed them on here, myself, mynmisoli, 97_nw, x2100 and 05 civic ..i had changed ONLY my springs and iv had it for a year and a little now and LOVE it

Thanks!

Yeah, my Jeep was all suspension lift - no body lifts there. When I put it on, I had no problems w/ the trans shifter, but w/ the tcase shifter (obviously not a problem in hondas!) But I'd thought I'd just ask about the manual tranny in the honda just in case - I don't want any surprises...

I'll read up on those S-Techs, though I'd like a little less of a drop, so thats why I'm leaning towards the H-Techs...If anyone else has used the H's, let me know - thanks!

I agree, the s-techs are too much drop IMO now that I look at it...
