Vacuum Dashpot questions
I have a 91 civic with a SOHC ZC swap in it, I recently purchased a new engine that I am going to build and put in at a later time. My current engine has failed the e-test and I noticed on the new engine (a DOHC ZC) it has what is called a Vacuum Dashpot or Vacuume Throttle Control, I was wondering if the SOHC throttle body needed this, the 2 throttle bodies differ slightly, but on the SOHC throttle body there is a spot for the Vacuum Dashpot.
Also I am worried because there is a vacuum line coming out of theleft side (when facing the front of the car directly) that has a screw on it to block out air... I will upload pictures as soon as I take them, could these things ruin an e-test? It failed in the NO ppm, the limit is just over 800 I scored over 2500 |
RE: Vacuum Dashpot questions
I couldn't tell but a vaccum line blocked buy a screw is not a good thing... vaccums are there for a reason! You should find out where it is suposed to go and put a new line.

RE: Vacuum Dashpot questions
Or, does anyone have any pictures of their engine area around the throttle body area where the vacuum lines are? For a 1.6L stock honda engine or SOHC ZC
