very low rpm's when car is at stop light and stalls sometimes
When I come to a stop my 96 civic lx(automatic) revs at very low rpm's(way below 1000, practically near zero rpm's) and feels like it is going to stall.; and sometimes it does stall. I've takin my car to several car shops and I get a different excuse every time. Has anybody gotten this problem? I don't want to spend money on someting that could be the problem. Could it be the idle control sensor that needs to be replaced or something??PLEASE HELP. Thanks for looking.
Had the same problem on my '96 VTi... I posted it in this forum somewhere... Anyway, the problem was a dirty throttle body. The carbon deposits (or whatever the black stuff was) was preventing proper airflow. I brought the car to our local Honda Service Center and had it cleaned out and had my idling adjusted and now it runs fine. Spent $10 more or less for the service... Hope this helps!
