Vibrations when braking

sometimes when I brake while going over 60 miles/h, my steering starts vibrating. Could this be an alignment/wheel balancing issue?

could be warped rotors.....i had the same problem, slapped some new rotors on it and it stops smooth every time now.

Yep, I'll second that, especially if you haven't serviced your brakes recently.

can warped rotors be a serious issue? I really dont care about the vibrations as long as it doesnt compromise safety.

if i'm not mistaken if your rotors are warped then your brake pads aren't touching the rotor evenly hence the vibration

Warped rotors can cause decreased braking efficiency and increase the wear of the brake pads. I'd suggest getting them replaced.
