Vtec doesnt work on B18...head work? thanks
Alright, mechanic told me to ask you guya if theres something you have to do when making an ls to gsr swap or something like that...We had head work done on the civic and ever since vtec wont work, i put a dowel pin and o ring in the center of the camshafts but it wastn that, yes theres oil in my car, and i get a check engine light usually its 3-5th gear and at likw 4500-5500 ut ccomes on and limits my rpms...
so any ideas are appreciated...he is looking for a way to make like the topend from gsr to ls or something,

so you are running LS/Vtec correct?
What ECU are you using? Like RonJ said what is the CEL for? Is the proper oil supply ran to the head if your using a LS block? Did you tap and plug the oil supply port on the bottom of the head?

ok ECU should be ok thats an ODB1 GSR ECU. A CEL code is a Check Engine Light code. Anytime you get a check engine light it has a code that tells you why its on. Follow the link in RonJ's sig to check what the code is and let us know.
that would deff keep Vtec from engaging.......
start by checking the ground from the pressure switch. It should have a good chasis ground. If thats good then check the solenoid, run a wire from the battery to the solenoid and see if it clicks. If it clicks its good, if it doesnt click its not good, replace it. Sometimes cleaning the solenoid if it does click helps also.
If all that checks out then it still possible its an ECU problem, and thats going off you saying that your oil level is good.
