Default wash AEM dryflow filter

I'm not certain on when to clean my filter. I can't find the papers that came with my air intake, think they might of been thrown away by accident. I'm 90% certain it's a dryflow filter.

I've had my intake on since september I think some time around autumn is when I put it on. Should I clean it? Probably when in doubt it's good to clean it anyway, can't hurt right? Is it the same washing it as an oiled filter just minus the oiling part?

Are the steps:
- take off filter
- gently wash with water from hose or sink no soap
- let dry completey
- put back on

Am I missing anything? Should I clean the tube aswell? inside and out?

Ok it's a dryflow thanks, never would of thought to look there [8D]

Am I missing any steps to cleaning it? Would there be any build up in the inner tube at all? There prolly shouldn't be right if the filters doing it's job.

well AEM has thier own cleaning solution......... says to soak it in the water/solution.... rinse then resoak it in some new cleaning solution and do the same...
basicaly ya wash it twice.... and the water SHOULD be preaty clean....

but if the first soak isnt that dirty then i wouldnt worry about redoing it......
i should clean mine preaty soon also....
mine looks like a charcol filter.... like white and black spots...

yea, mines not that bad addiction lol . How long have you had yours on for?

I imagine that AEM solution isn't cheap.... I think I'll just wait on it think I heard it can go awhile without needing it. Unless it's for a CAI filter cause that gets dirty quicker.

I cleaned my son's AEM Dryfow this past weekend.
We mixed a solution of Simple Green & Water, let it soak for a couple minutes, rotate back and forth and up and down.
Rinse and repeat.
Clean as new...
That SimpleGreen is one great product.
