hey im new to this site but not new to honda. ive been searching on here for acouple days now, and i still havent found anyone with the swap i want. i have a 97 civic lx automatic. i want to do a swap. i want to do an ls/vtec or b20/vtec but i want to keep the automatic. i know its weird swap but is it possible. im not into racing but i want something better then a stock d16.

 

im not a swapp guru, but if i had to guess, i wouldnt see y you couldnt keep it. If you get the tranny from a CRV (if you do a b20 swap) then i wouldnt see why you couldnt keep it, I could be wrong though

 

It is just as doable as a 5 speed swap, but you are going to have a hard time finding one already done. No one really swaps automatic B series engines into civics. Theyre all 5 speed.

 

so i can be diffrent from everyone else and still be as quick as the 5 speed peeps. i want to get atleast 200 to the wheels N/A. that is. im not the type of person to get one thing and change it besides the motor. but like if i was gunna do a 5 speed i would of looked for a 5 speed to start off with but im glad i want automatic. i got the car for a grand. its a 97 4 door with 176,XXX miles. the driver window doesnt go down and it needed a muffler. my brother had an old apexi axle back exhaust for his 00 si. he sold it and still had the muffler so i swiped it. easy fix. now just need to fix the window. it sucks not going to drive thru's anymore. i still need more info on the swap.
