WHAT IS THIS ABOUT!?!?!?!?
I'm doing a head gasket change on my D16Z6 because unfortunately I don't have the $$$ for a B16... Anyway, I've undone everything that needs to be undone and the head won't come off!!! It's almost as it's glued to the block!!!! What's up with this??? I've looked in the manual too and I've done everything correctly so far... I've loosened and taken off the timing belt after setting everything to TDC. I've taken off the power steering pump and bracket, I've taken off all sensors, fuel hose, etc. I've taken off the bracket which holds the intake on from underneath, and I've undone all the head bolts... Now why the heck isn't it coming off of there??? I can get it to budge, but not to come off. What's the deal? Thanks for your time!
Alrighty, I got the head off, got it cleaned and checked out, and got the new gasket set.... Now for another question... I still have to clean off the block. The gasket came off easily, but there's still some chunks of stuff on it. What kind of remover do you suggest?
Use a chisel. Sharpen it up really good, and hold it almost flush to the block surface. Don't hit it with a hammer or anything, and just be careful. Then afterwards, spray it down with brake/carb cleaner and wipe it off.

Just don't get gasket remover on your hands, cause it'll take the skin off too...
