What does the little spring in the coil do (2000 Civic)?
The small spring that you see when you pop the distributor cap off, that sits in the coil? I popped the distributor cap this weekend when I was doing a compression check, and the little spring fell out. I put it back in (I think), but how do I know that it stayed in vs. falling out when I put the cap back on?
What exactly is it's purpose? And how do you ensure that it stays on the little tab on the coil when you put the distributor cap back on?
Thanks

Is it supposed to be attached to the coil? Mine fell out, I put it back on the little post inside the coil, but it falls off pretty easily - I had it fall off a couple of times when I was putting the dizzy cap back on.
