What is this sensor? 1990 Civic LX
What is this sensor, thought it was the map sensor, but not sure,
Car runs like *** with it plugged in, and runs fine without, but throws a CEL.

Thanks for the help.

idle air control valve. bout 180 bucks.
had mine off bout 3 or 4 times to clean it.
water runs thru it.
idle may not keep it rate if you turn on the ac.
has other symptoms also.
haynes has troubleshooting techniques for it.

OK, next question.
How do I get it off? It looks like it it rivetted on there.
Thanks,

think i responded to the wrong sensor. the black one that is disconnected is the throttle angle sensor. do not know much about it.
and yes, like mine, there are those one way bolts holding it on.
with it plugged in, is the engine light on so you can get a code?
the code will lead you to the throttle angle sensor.
think you have to take the throttle body off and drill the one way bolts out.
don;t think that it is sold separately. i had the code for it one time, and a local repair shop told me that just go around back and get an old throttle body and i could have the sensor. decide to just drive with it on, the car was running ok, and the light went off after a few months. and i never looked back, so to speak.
hope this helps
