I have a 1999 civic ex. Its manual. When I shift into 2nd 3rd and up it usually makes a squeek sound. The sound only lasts a second. And another question is how come in 2nd gear when I go above 4500 rpms my car makes this really loud long lasting squeek sound. Please help.

I think you need a new clutch. My did the same before it was replaced.

Does the noiseappear tocome from the engine, belts,or something else theengine bay? Check the oil level. If its really low this maybe part of theproblem.

How many miles?

My car has 140,000 miles. And yes the oil level is low but its done this before. So Ill get an oil change and what else does anyone suggest? Thanks for the help.

give or take for a clutch itself depends on what u want but i got my competition clutch for $250 and th shop charged me $200 to put it in, sometimes itsm roe depending on the clutch and whos putting it in, but i dont think u need a new clutch, when was the last time it was replaceD?? and when was ur last oil change and describe the noise maybe its a normal noise

My clutch is stock. So its about 8 years old... But the noise isnt normal. Trust me. Its really hard to explain.... Ill try to find a video or something.
