im soon going to be the proud owner of a 1995 civic now im told its a vtec but im not sure wot this is and if this car is even a real vtec, it is a 1995 honda civic esi petrol 3 door, can you tell me weather its a vtec or not from this information?

i would be greatful if someone could shine some light on this topic for me as im new to the whole civic scene

the vtec is preaty much a extra cam shaft lobe that when engaged keeps the valves open just alitle longer...

at least thats what something like ive read before.... alittle more power...

wouldn't it say if it is a Vtec on top of the engine when you pop the hood?

info on wikipedia says it should have the d16z6 (oh which is a V TEC btw)....though a lot of people say wikipedia isnt a valid source of information but...idk...a lot of it checks off for me...
